Day 1
Theory :
Coastline reading : What is a baïne ? How does it work ?
Practice :
Aquatic ability test : bodysurfing. Acclimating to the feel of surfing by lying on the board and pushing with the feet. Standing up easily(on the sand).
Sesson objective :
Getting,in and out of the water safely.
Day 2
Theory :
Weather forecasting basics : What is a swell ? Where does it come from ?
Practice :
Standing up automatically on the sand. Gaining speed with the board, sliding by pushing with your feet, then paddling. Standing up in the foam.
Session objective :
Getting the right timing to catch the foam.
Day 3
Theory :
Birth of wave : different types of waves. Role of the coastline dune.
Practice :
Paddling technique and lying down securely on the board. Paddlingin foam, and then standing up on it. Shifting weight forward/backward.
Session objective :
Standing up easily on the foam.
Day 4
Theory :
Priority and etiquette rules : Paddling out and reaching the lin up.
Practice :
Getting to the peak and catching a wave. Shifting weight forward/backward to speed up or slow down your board. Tipping toes and heel-stepping weight to engage a slight change of direction in the foam.
Session objective :
Feeling your board under your feet.
Day 5
Theory :
Shaping a board-basics : choosing the right board.
Practice :
Finding the right place at the peak. Paddling rythm and taking off in the steep.
Riding a wave straight.
Session objective :
Catching a wave and sustaining balanced surfing as long as possible.
